Looking ahead to 2025, this blog aims to bring you up-to-date with improvements and additions to the Little Learners Love Literacy program for next year. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Term 1: Stage 7 Review

Teaching materials for Stage 7 Review will be available for the start of term 1. This review unit aims to consolidate the complex alphabetic code taught in Year 1, especially for spelling. With an increased focus on fluency and writing, resources will include weekly plans, digital review slides, daily dictation and a range of fluency passages for partner reading, reader's theatre and whole class choral reading. More details will be shared through the LLLL newsletter in the new year, including a sample unit of resources and a supporting professional learning video.

Terms 2-3: Stage 7 Unit 5

Teaching materials for Term 2 will be released by the end of term 1. This unit of work focusses mostly on morphology and introduces the final of the 3 spelling rules (y to i). 

Terms 3-4: Stage 8

Teaching materials for Stage 8 will be released during term 3. This unit is entirely focussed on morphology - systematically teaching new prefixes and suffixes, whilst revising previously learned content (phonics and morphology).

We appreciate the patience of all schools teaching with Little Learners Love Literacy who have been waiting for Year 2 resources to be published. It is critical that we release a Year 2 program that is aligned with latest research and best practice, and we're excited to share resources with you soon. 

FOUNDATION & YEAR 1

Stages 1-6

We released lots of new materials for teaching Stages 1-4 during this year:

• New edition TARs in all state handwriting fonts
• Workbooks in all state handwriting fonts
• Weekly plans with linked teaching slides in Little Learners Love Literacy Online.

Stages +4 and 5, and Stage 6 will be updated in a similar way during term 1 and term 2 next year.

Stage 7 Unit 1 Updates

We've updated the Stage 7 Unit 1 Teacher Activity Resource to provide more support and new resources for teaching this unit in both Foundation and Year 1, in line with our current teaching sequence. Find out more about the New Edition TAR 7.1 here.

Stage 7.1 weekly plans are now live on LLLL Online for Stage 7.1 Foundation and Year 1 with linked revision slides. 

More for Term 1 2025

Term 1 will also see the publication of Big World Decodable Quiz Stages 7.1-7.2, and more Fox Kid - our award-winning chapter book series! Two new Fox Kid Chapter Books with two matched reading and writing Fox Kid Workbooks and a new fluency game Ka-blam! Box 4, will publish at the start of term 1 - all supporting Stage 7.1 of the teaching sequence.
